Master of Science in Horticulture is a specialized post- graduate degree program that focusing on the scientific study of plant cultivation, particularly emphasizing fruits, vegetables, ornamental plants, medicinal & aromatic plants & plantation crops.

The programme covers the major key areas such as plant propagation, crop production, nursery production & management, plant breeding, protected cultivation & post-harvest technology. Career Opportunities

After completing their M.Sc. (Ag.) in Horticulture, students can pursue for Ph. D. Degree programmes and they may work in several government or non-government organizations like Central Agriculture Universities, State Agricultural Universities, KVKs, Horticultural Industries, NRCs, Crop Research Directorates, Botanical Gardens as well as Nursery Production Units. They can also performing as Horticulturists, Plant Breeder, Gardener, Landscape Designer & Arboreal Manager etc.

The post-graduate lab under Department of Horticulture is for exclusively utilized by PG Students of the department & faculty research programme. It features with deep freezer for storing the chemicals and mixtures, laboratory incubator machine, hot air -oven machine, BOD incubator, water distillery units, gas ovens, electronic weighing balance, digital weighing balance, magnetic stirrer, mixer juicer & grinder, pulper machine, digital refractometer, vernier calliper& digital fruit pressure etc.

The lab is equipped with cutting-edge instruments & tools, fostering an environment that encourages research, experimentation and critical thinking. Our facilities include modern workstations, safety equipment’s, analytical equipment’s and a wide range of chemicals & reagents.
